In 2008 project was carried out to review the gender equality and women’s empowerment themes in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia in the context of development cooperation and to encourage the implementation of international commitments on gender equality and women’s empowerment at the national and European level.
Center for Equality Advancement (CEA) conducted a study on the main Lithuanian political and legal obligations in the field of development cooperation and gender mainstreaming in bilateral initiatives. This allowed to look at the growing role of Lithuania in Belarus, Moldova and Afghanistan. According to the survey, the recommendations were carried out to the Government and the EU institutions. The situation was presented to non-governmental organizations organizing seminars for teachers.
