Young women were chosen as the target group of the project because they are under-represented in local and national elections in Moldova and have little involvement in the social, political and economic life of the community. During the project period, training courses on good governance and leadership are provided to Moldovan mayors and other local authorities. A publication on “The Arithmetic of Government” is also being prepared, which will provide full data on the participation of men and women in the Moldovan government sector. In order to foster cooperation between Lithuanian and Moldovan women in government, a visit to Lithuania will be organised for 6 Moldovan women representatives.
