The project aim is to increase independent media representation for the democratic movements and sensitivity to gender issues, deepening the coverage of socially sensitive topics of professional competence and promote independent media representatives network.
Young journalists representing independent media in Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania were be jointly invited to participate in an autumn school, where they had an opportunity to spend a week in Lithuania gaining new professional knowledge and skills on how to practice and promote democracy in their own work. Mature democracy is not possible without gender equality; therefore, the participants were be encouraged to learn more about the importance of gender equality. The participants produced photo reports (sequences of photo images) on some socially sensitive themes with a focus on gender equality, respect for diversity and democracy. The photo reports were analysed and discussed (by the participants and some external experts) in the national groups and online. Selected pictures were printed, prepared and displayed in exhibitions in Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus. The events encouraged networking and sharing of different valuable experiences between young journalists from the three countries.
