The project „Women Initiative Against Violence” has been started in 2013 October. Its goal is to consistently, comprehensively and systematically reduce violence against women at the national level (giving special attention to the problems of sexual violence).
The essence of the project is to protect and represent the interests of women, to provide specialized comprehensive assistance to victims who experienced different types of violence (especially sexual), and to prevent and consolidate the overcoming of violence against women in the laws, programs and strategic plans.
The project is implemented Kaunas Women’s Society, in collaboration with the Centre of Equal Advancement, KUN Center for Gender Equality (Norway) and the Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The project is financed by the EEA Grants, NGO program in Lithuania.
